angle-left Basilica remembers Saint Joseph with mass
Six deacons from the Seminary were ordained at the Eucharist, led by Archbishop Omella

Yesterday, the Sagrada Família hosted a mass for Saint Joseph, remembering Jesus' father with the Eucharist. The mass was led by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Archbishop of Barcelona, and during the ceremony, six deacons from the Seminary were also ordained.

The Basilica has had a strong connection with Saint Joseph from the offset. It should be remembered that it was on 19 March 1882, Saint Joseph’s Day, when the first stone of the church was laid and the works were instigated by the president of the Asociación Espiritual de Devotos de San José, Josep Maria Bocabella. Because of this, the mass of Saint Joseph is one of the most important celebrations held in the church.
