angle-left Nativity façade lit up for Christmas

On 19, 20, 21 and 22 December, the Nativity façade, which expresses the joy and happiness of Jesus’ birth and life, was the focus of the events the Sagrada Família organised to share the spirit of Christmas. On these days, the various sculpture groups on the façade were lit up, with a musical narration telling the story of the scenes of the historical arrival of the son of God and the symbolism behind each of them, as told in the Gospels.

A total of 25.000 people turned out to watch the ten sessions the Basilica hosted, to enjoy this light show. The event was free and, after each session, there was hot chocolate for everyone who came out to watch the illumination on the façade.
