angle-left Sagrada Família offers free visits for refugees

The Basilica is scheduling several activities to open the church doors to the various groups of refugees, share our heritage with the new arrivals to foster their integration, and raise awareness of the situation of refugees.

First of all, anyone who arrived in Barcelona as a refugee can visit the Sagrada Família through the social programme the Basilica is promoting with Apropa Cultura in order to help them feel welcome and accompanied in their adaptation process.

Also, since the Basilica has an audioguide in Ukrainian, from late June through the end of the year, the Basilica is offering free visits for Ukrainians through the Ukrainian Consulate, with the audioguide in their language.

Finally, thinking of the newly arrived families with children from this group, on 28, 29 and 30 June they are invited to visit the Basilica with a guide in Ukrainian who will explain the importance of light with the tour called “El temple de la llum” (The Temple of light). These visits are designed to be done as a family, and with children, striving to convey a message of hope with a crafts workshop in the cloisters.
