angle-left Sagrada Família lit up in red in recognition of all the work by Càritas during the Covid-19 healthcare crisis

The Sagrada Família Nativity façade was illuminated yesterday evening in red in recognition of the work being done by Càritas Diocesana de Barcelona since the beginning of the Covid-19 healthcare crisis.

This initiative is part of Giving Tuesday Now, a day that, like Thanksgiving celebrated in several countries, works to recognise the generosity and hard work of non-profit organisations. This time, the initiative wanted to highlight the work being done by Càritas during the social emergency caused by the Covid-19 healthcare crisis. In fact, since it began, Càritas Diocesana de Barcelona has seen a three-fold increase in demand for aid from people affected by the situation. 80% of the requests for help are to cover basic needs, such as food and household expenses, including rent and basic utilities.

With this lighting initiative, which was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Servicios Audiovisuales Albadalejo, the Sagrada Família has joined Càritas in appreciation for all its staff, from collaborators to partners and donors, who trust in and support the organisation, as well as volunteers who have got involved in helping people in need, despite the lockdown.
