The Sagrada Família is putting the finishing touches on preparations for its Open Doors, which this year will be held on 20, 21 and 23 September as part of the festivities of Our Lady of Mercy (Verge de la Mercè), the patron saint of Barcelona. To celebrate these days, the Basilica is holding a drawing for 30,000 tickets to enter the temple. The winners will be able to visit it free of charge, plus they will learn about the progress on construction in recent months and discover some of the most important milestones in the future of the Basilica. This time, the pinnacles of the towers of the Evangelists will be spotlighted. They are scheduled to be installed in 2021 and will make the total height of the lanterns reach 135 metres tall.

All the information about participating in the drawing will be announced on 12 September on this same website, but we can already tell you that advance registration is needed. The registration period will be from 12 September at 10 am to 16 September at 10 am. On the latter day, the drawing will be held and the names of the winners will be announced. Each of them will receive four tickets (without participants’ names specified), so they can donate them or give them away. However, selling them is forbidden.

The participants in the drawing may choose between the two time brackets available: either from 4 to 6 pm or from 6:15 to 8 pm. The specific time when they enter the Sagrada Família will be determined in the drawing, although it will always be within the time bracket they chose.

So, pay attention on 12 September, and become part of Gaudí’s dream!
