Awards ceremony for 19th Spiritual Film Festival at Basilica of the Sagrada Família

As part of the 19th Spiritual Film Festival, the Basilica of the Sagrada Família hosted the awards ceremony for the 5th Spiritual Film Award and the 1st Contest for Audiovisual Pieces on Spirituality and Religious Fact.
The General Director of Religious Affairs Carles Armengol presented the Spiritual Film Award which has been granted to Imanol Uribe for his contribution to peace in difficult times, with his films on the Basque conflict. The award is a reproduction of the star on the Nativity façade of the Temple of the Sagrada Família.
Additionally, Maria Lorente won the first Contest for Audiovisual Pieces on Spirituality and Religious Fact with her short Helix Aspersa, made at the Bande à Part Film School. This award is a reproduction of the turtle at the base of the column of Mary on the Nativity façade of the Basilica of the Sagrada Família.
The Spiritual Film Festival, first held in 2004, is organised by the Directorate General for Religious Affairs of the Catalan Ministry of Justice, Rights and Memory and took place from 15 to 30 November this year. This yearly film festival aims to raise awareness of spirituality through cinema.
