angle-left Sagrada Família bathed in blue for World Sight Day

On 9 October, the Sagrada Família Nativity façade was lit up in blue for World Sight Day and to highlight the work of the Eyes of the World Foundation, which works to prevent and treat preventable blindness in vulnerable areas.

Each year, the Nativity façade is lit up three times in support of different charity initiatives. On 2 April, World Autism Awareness Day, the Sagrada Família joined the campaign led by Aprenem Autisme Associació.  The next one will be on 22 October, for Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Awareness Day, when it will be lit up in green, thanks to the collaboration of Asociación Síndrome Phelan-McDermid.

In addition to these three illuminations, like every year, the Sagrada Família took part in Earth Hour on 22 March by switching off all the lights on the star and the Nativity and Passion façades.
