The Sagrada Família hosted the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Expiatory Temple and El Camino de Gaudí, a project that encompasses El Capricho de Gaudí (Cantabria), Museo Casa Botines (Leon) and Palacio de Gaudí (Astorga).
The event was led by Mr. Esteve Camps, Executive Chairman of the Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família; Ms. Tokiko Kurosawa and Mr. Carlos Mirapeix, from El Capricho de Gaudí; Mr. José Mª Viejo and Mr. Raúl Fernández from FUNDOS Foundation (which manages Museo Casa Botines Gaudí); Mons. Víctor M. Murías, director of the Gaudí Palace. The General Director of the Sagrada Família, Mr. Xavier Martínez, Mr. Jordi Faulí, architect director, the director of Culture and Socio-educative Action, Mrs. Marta Otzet, and Mrs. Silvia Martorell, secretary of the presidency, have also attended.
It establishes a framework for joint actions among these four buildings, which welcome a joint total of five million visitors each year. All the participants highlighted the positive impact these joint initiatives will have, especially looking to 2026, which will be the 100th anniversary of Gaudí’s death. This collaboration agreement expects to cover exchanging temporary exhibitions and loaning pieces, co-producing cultural and scientific activities and collaborating on educational and archival activities.
Before the end of 2025, an event will be held to present El Camino de Gaudí at the Sagrada Família, with the four organisations highlighting the vision of Gaudí’s work in an integrated, comprehensive way.
