The Cloister of La Mercè at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família hosted the institutional event of the tenth edition of Bible Week, featuring a lecture by the vicar general of the Discalced Carmelite order and biblical scholar Fr. Agustí Borrell, entitled "The Holy Family and the Beauty of the Gospel". Also participating were Mr. Ramon Bassas, Director General of Religious Affairs of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and Ms. Maria de l’Esperança Amill, Vice President of the Biblical Association of Catalonia. In this way, Bible Week, celebrated from 25-31 January, joins the commemoration of the Gaudí Year on the centenary of the death of the brilliant architect and man of faith.

The celebration of Bible Week is sponsored by the Episcopal Tarraconense Conference and fostered by the Biblical Association of Catalonia, the Pastoral Liturgy Centre, Claret Publishing, the Human and Christian Message Foundation (Radio Estel – Catalunya Cristiana), the Christian School Foundation of Catalonia, the Montserrat Abbey and the Joan Maragall Foundation.
