The work to install the pieces of the cross that will complete the Sagrada Família’s tower of Jesus Christ continue to progress. After the lower arm, the central core, and the first two horizontal arms were put into place between October and November 2025, today the third of the four horizontal arms of the cross has been installed.
This third arm, just like the rest of the horizontal arms, follows the characteristic double-twist geometry of the assembly. They have an octagonal shape at the inner end, which connects to the core, and a square shape at the outer end. Each piece weighs approximately 12.8 tonnes and measures 4.40 m x 4.50 m x 4.50 m.
With the installation of this third arm, the assembly of the cross on the tower of Jesus Christ is entering its final stretch. The placement of the fourth and final horizontal arm is scheduled to take place over the coming days, which will round off the assembly before the upper arm is installed and, inside it, the sculpture of the Agnus Dei.
