Jordi Faulí, Lead Architect of the Sagrada Família, is coordinating a new edition of the Open Course The Basilica of the Sagrada Família, organised by the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià (AUSP). The course offers an introduction to the history, architecture and symbolism of the temple designed by Antoni Gaudí and will be taught by architects from the team currently working on the construction of the Basilica.
The course will take place from 5 November 2026 to 7 January 2027 at the headquarters of the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià in Barcelona. Through eight sessions led by Sagrada Família architects, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the evolution of Gaudí’s project and explore first-hand the temple’s principal architectural features.
The programme will address topics such as the origins of the Basilica, Antoni Gaudí’s involvement in the project, the Nativity, Passion and Glory façades, the naves, the cloister, the sacristy and the central towers. The course will conclude with a final session devoted to review and conclusions.
The initiative forms part of the master’s degree curriculum of the Antoni Gaudí Faculty of History, Archaeology and Christian Arts, while remaining open to anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of the Sagrada Família through the insights of the professionals who work on the basilica every day.
