Six deacons from the Seminary will be ordained in the Eucharist, led by Archbishop Omella

On Sunday, 17 March, at 5 pm, the Sagrada Família will be hosting the Saint Joseph mass, a Eucharist to commemorate the figure of Jesus’s father. The mass will be led by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Archbishop of Barcelona, and during the celebration, six deacons from the Seminary will also be ordained.

The Basilica has had a strong connection with Saint Joseph from the offset. It should be remembered that it was on 19 March 1882, Saint Joseph’s Day, when the first stone of the church was laid and the works were instigated by the president of the Asociación Espiritual de Devotos de San José, Josep Maria Bocabella. Because of this, the mass of Saint Joseph is one of the most important celebrations held in the church.
