Once again, the Basilica’s Nativity façade was lit up blue on the evening before Europe Day. This anniversary, celebrated on 9 May, commemorates the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, a speech in 1950 that laid the foundations for the future European Union.

Various iconic spaces and buildings in Barcelona and throughout Europe have joined the initiative.
