The Sagrada Família has completed the exterior of the tower of Jesus Christ and started a new phase of the works. The crane is being brought down in height, to 174 metres, because the new construction projects aren’t as tall.

This means it is no longer necessary to have a brace connecting the crane, which is on top of the central nave roofs (54 metres off the ground), to the tower of Jesus Christ. Now the crane will mainly be used to build the towers on the Glory façade, which will be 120 metres tall.

The crane was installed in May 2024 and the highest point of the jib arm was 203 metres off the ground. It was key to achieving milestones such as completing the tower of Jesus Christ and connecting it to the tower of the Virgin Mary.
