The Sagrada Família signed a collaboration agreement today with leading Catalan music institutions Consorci de L’Auditori i l’Orquestra, la Fundació Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, la Fundació Orfeó Català -  Palau de la Música Catalana and la Fundació del Gran Teatre del Liceu to promote this music innovation project.

“Ressonàncies”, a series of small concerts in unexplored spaces

The project, called “Ressonàncies”, will test the acoustics in the spaces chosen based on explorations this past February to see how well they suit classic, liturgical and religious repertoires, following written instructions Antoni Gaudí left in his project on sound spaces inside the Basilica.

In the final quarter of this year, three sound tests will be held to test the repertoires and sounds with the musicians and singers as well as the audience, which will be made up of teachers, technicians and programmers from the four participating music institutions, as well as other expert audience members. After each test, the audience members will evaluate it so conclusions can be drawn for the future.
