On Saturday, 7 February, the tenth anniversary of Effetà's arrival in Barcelona was celebrated at the Basilica. Groups of young people and participants of spiritual retreats from different dioceses of Catalonia attended the event, which consisted of a Eucharist and adoration presided over by Cardinal Joan Josep Omella i Omella, Archbishop of Barcelona, and concelebrated by Mons. David Abadías and Mons. Javier Vilanova, auxiliary bishops of Barcelona. 

Effetà was born in the parish of the Immaculate Conception in Bogotá, Colombia, with the intention of adapting the Emmaus retreats for young people. The event has served to commemorate the more than 100 retreats that have taken place in Catalonia over the past 10 years and the more than 5,000 people who have participated.
