The Sagrada Família is celebrating the feast of Sant Jordi, patron saint of Catalonia, by opening its doors again to share this important day with the public.
After-hours guided tour on the eve of Sant Jordi
To share the Sant Jordi celebrations with the public, the Sagrada Família is offering 90 tickets for two for a special after-hours tour of the Basilica on 22 April, where visitors will also get the chance to discover “Llum primigènia”, an audiovisual installation.
Anyone interested can enter the draw to win one of 90 tickets for two using the form here between 10 a.m. on 13 April and 9 p.m. on 15 April. The draw will be held on 15 April starting at 9 p.m., and the winners will receive an email with their tickets in the following days. There will be three access time slots: 8:15 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 8:45 p.m.
“Llum primigènia”, an audiovisual installation about the legend of Saint George
From 21 to 27 April, the Basilica of the Sagrada Família will host an audiovisual installation that reinterprets the myth of Saint George through a contemporary visual language, evoking the struggle between good and evil and between light and darkness. Integrated into the Basilica’s space, the installation interacts with the sculpture of Saint George by Josep Maria Subirachs and strengthens the link between architecture, sculpture, and audiovisual language. In doing so, the work connects Christian iconography and contemporary digital art, opening a space for contemplation and spiritual renewal.
Free tickets for anyone named Jordi, Jordina from anywhere in the world
On 23 April, Jordis, Jordines, and their equivalents in languages worldwide will be able to access the Basilica free of charge along with one companion. Those interested can book their tickets through the website starting 13 April. These tickets are subject to time slot availability.
