From 2 to 17 April 2022, the Basilica will host its Easter Concert, Palm Sunday Mass,  palm-frond workshop and liturgical celebrations

EASTER CONCERT

On 2 April, the Basilica hosted its Easter Concert.

The Sagrada Família invited citizens to attend. A total of 800 winners were drawn from the entries received between 17 March at 10:00 am and 24 March at 10:00 am to enjoy this yearly event.

This time, Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, with over 35 musicians, and Cor de Cambra de Granollers performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem, the last piece he composed, in 1791.

The concert was part of the special Easter programming organised by the Sagrada Família.

This concert was made possible in part thanks to Samsung Electronics Iberia.

PALM SUNDAY MASS

On 10 April, the Sagrada Família once again celebrated Palm Sunday with the blessing of palm fronds followed by mass.

The ceremony began inside the Basilica at 12 noon, followed by the blessing of the palm fronds inside and, at approximately 12:15 pm, the blessing of the palm fronds outside the Temple.

After this was finished, mass began inside the Basilica, officiated this year by Mons. Sergi Gordo, Auxiliary Bishop of Barcelona.

The festivities were part of the special Easter programming organised by the Sagrada Família.

EASTER WORKSHOP: “CREATE YOUR PALM AS A FAMILY”

The workshop included a tour that focuses especially on the Passion façade, a game of discovery with challenges for the whole family to solve, and then a workshop where the little ones had made their own palm frond.
