The Sagrada Família Department of Culture and Social/Educational Actions, in collaboration with ten organisations from the neighbourhood community plan, launched a new initiative for the older members of the neighbourhood for International Day of Older People on 1 October. To reflect on the passing of time and the value of memories, an art workshop called “Growing with the Sagrada Família” was held at the Basilica from 30 September to 4 October.

Participants went on a guided tour and took part in a creative workshop to decorate a postcard made of watercolour paper. When folded, the postcard shows a view of the city with the profile of the Sagrada Família. This artistic activity aims to connect creativity with the city’s identity.

This project wants to highlight the active role older people play in the community and recognise their contribution to society.
