The Sagrada Família took part in the first annual Faig Gaudí art fair, organised by the Gaudí Shopping association in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council and other neighbourhood organisations. The weekend of 28 and 29 September, there were a variety of exhibitions and crafts for sale, as well as an extensive programme of cultural and family activities.

The Sagrada Família hosted a watercolour workshop for kids to discover the stained-glass window devoted to Our Lady of Mercy, patron saint of the city, and the importance of light in the Basilica. Gaudí said sunshine is the best painter and that the Basilica would be the Temple of harmonious light.

This activity arose out of the desire to forge closer ties with the neighbourhood and the city, and to share the values held by Gaudí and the Sagrada Família.
