From 13 to 15 July, the Sagrada Família took part in the summer course “El legado de Gaudí. Aprender de Gaudí en el siglo XXI” (Gaudí’s legacy. Learning from Gaudí in the 21st century), organised by the University of Leon and held at Museo Casa Botines Gaudí. The course aimed to introduce participants to Antoni Gaudí and his work, encourage research on his architecture and highlight the relevance of his legacy in the 21st century.

Representing the Basilica, architect Xisco Llabrés gave a talk titled “Gaudí y la revolución de la arquitectura religiosa. El ejemplo de la Sagrada Familia” (Gaudí and the revolution of religious architecture. The example of the Sagrada Família) on 13 July.

The sessions covered topics related to Gaudí’s architecture, his contributions to art, architecture and design, his innovative nature and the relevance of his legacy today.

By participating in the course, the Sagrada Família has bolstered its commitment to raising awareness of Antoni Gaudí and his way of thinking, and to collaborating on academic initiatives that help raise awareness of his legacy.
