Rosa Maria Alsina, vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of the Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família Foundation, took part in Gaudí International Congress 2026. She gave a lecture titled ‘Inhabiting Gaudí’, which focused on acoustic comfort in the heritage spaces Gaudí created.

Rosa Maria Alsina shared the results of recent research into the acoustics of Casa Milà - La Pedrera, highlighting how the geometry, materials and layout of the spaces affect user experience.

However, Alsina’s lecture isn’t the Sagrada Família’s only contribution to the congress. Jordi Faulí, head architect of the Basilica, is on the Scientific Committee overseeing the academic quality of the work presented. And Marta Otzet, director of Culture and Social/Educational Actions, is on the Honorary Committee, made up of representatives from institutions and spaces with ties to Antoni Gaudí’s legacy.

From 22 to 25 October at La Pedrera in Barcelona, as part of the commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s death, Gaudí International Congress 2026 brings together international researchers, scholars and specialists to explore new perspectives and lines of research on the life, work and influence of the Catalan architect.
