The Basilica of the Sagrada Família held the second session of its series of four theological conferences, an event designed to delve deeper into the spiritual meaning of the Temple and its interpretation in a contemporary context.

In this session, Dr Joan Torra gave a conference titled “The Christology of the tower”, which focused on Jesus Christ as the symbolic and theological core of Gaudí’s project. Afterwards, Dr Armand Puig gave a conference titled “The ecclesiology of the tower”, exploring the community and ecclesial aspects inspired by the concept of the Temple.

Both conferences created a space for dialogue on faith, scholarship and society, bolstering the Sagrada Família’s desire to host initiatives that promote a better understanding of the Temple’s symbolic and theological depth and its place in the world today.

Throughout 2026, there will be events commemorating the hundredth anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s death. The programming is available on sagradafamilia2026.org.
