angle-left Sagrada Família receives Brain Protected Space certification

The Sagrada Família has received Brain Protected Space certification from Fundación Freno al ICTUS. In an event held in the cloister of Our Lady of Mercy, Basilica General Director Xavier Martínez accepted the certificate from Fundación Freno al ICTUS president Mr Julio Agredano Lozano. Mr Martínez noted, “Ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the thousands of visitors that enter the Basilica every day is a very important part of our social responsibility policies.”

Training sessions to identify and act in case of stroke

Several members of the Sagrada Família staff have done specific training on how to identify and act when someone may be having a stroke. The content of the training was developed with the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) through their Study Group of Cerebrovascular Diseases (GEECV) and is part of the Brain Caring People project, which is backed by SEN with support from the Spanish Association of Specialists in Occupational Medicine (AEEMT) and the Spanish Association of Occupational Prevention (AESPLA).

Stroke is the number one cause of death among women in Spain, and also the main cause of disability. Detecting strokes early and acting fast exponentially increases the survival rate.
