angle-left Sagrada Família joins good causes illuminating Nativity façade

Again this year, the Sagrada Família will illuminate the Nativity façade to support various charity initiatives.

On 12 May, it will be lit up in dark blue for International Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Awareness Day. This initiative is promoted by the Association of People Affected by Fibromyalgia and other Central Sensitisation Syndromes of Catalonia to raise awareness of these diseases and stress the importance of research and early diagnosis.

The second will be on 3 July, for Awareness Day for Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome. The Sagrada Família will be lit up in yellow in collaboration with the Spanish Association for Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome (AESRT)  to raise awareness of the causes and treatment for the disease.

The final one will be on 12 November, joining the World Pneumonia Awareness Campaign “PneumoLight” with the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute. More than 30 countries all over the world take part in this initiative, illuminating buildings and monuments in blue. You can follow it on social media with the hashtag #PneumoLight.

In addition to these three illuminations, like every year, the Sagrada Família will take part in Earth Hour on 26 March by switching off the Nativity façade completely between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm.
