The Sagrada Familia has presented the awards for the Tower of Jesus competition for schools this Saturday, 3 October, at an event held at the Basilica. Ms Laia Ros, Patron of the Fundació Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, gave the opening welcome.
The completion of the Tower of Jesus Christ has inspired an educational project promoted by the Sagrada Familia that has brought together 2,345 students from 34 educational centres in Catalonia. With 56 entries submitted and 10 proposals receiving awards, children and young people have explored, through art and creativity, the values of effort, cooperation and collective construction. The Fundació Blanquerna has collaborated on this project.
During the ceremony, Mr Esteve Camps, Delegate President of the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Familia, and Ms Laia Ros presented a recognition to Valentina Sánchez Cedres, the young woman with a visual impairment who explained the Tower of Jesus to Pope Leo XIV and the King and Queen of Spain using a tactile model during the Pontiff’s visit to the Sagrada Familia.
