On the 172nd anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s birth (25 June 1852), the cloister of Our Lady of Mercy at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família hosted the presentation of the book Palacio Gaudí de Astorga by Jairo Álvarez, which is the result of the author’s extensive research into the history of the Palace of Gaudí in Astorga.

Mons. David Abadías, Auxiliary Bishop of Barcelona, gave the opening speech at the event, which was also attended by Mr Esteve Camps, Executive Chairman of the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Família; Mons. Jesús Fernández, Bishop of Astorga; P. Víctor Murias, director of the Episcopal Palace of Astorga; and Jairo Álvarez, the author, who shared his experiences and discoveries while researching the book.
