On 22 June at 6:00 pm, the Sagrada Família cloister of Our Lady of Montserrat hosted the ceremony presenting the awards for baccalaureate research projects and higher vocational training course projects. These awards recognise the students’ hard work in learning and research related to religious fact and innovation in science, technology and literature that broaden our collective knowledge about Gaudí and the Temple of the Sagrada Família.
First prize went to Helena Tello Galve of Jesuïtes Bellvitge – Centre d’Estudis Joan XXIII, for the work titled Maclatge en els pinacles de la Sagrada Família. Second prize was awarded to the project titled L’exili forçat dels Rohingyes by Tuba Tahsin Shuaib of Institut Ernest Lluch, and third prize went to Martina Arissa Comas, a student at Vedruna Vall, Terrassa, for her project Vincle ciència i Bíblia. Fourth prize went to Abril Amo Sans, from Institut Montserrat, for the project titled L’arquitectura de Gaudí actualment; fifth prize went to Magí Barniol i Romaní of St. Antoni de Pàdua, Salesians de Mataró for his project titled El cas de Medjugorje; and sixth prize was awarded to the project L’art de ser amor incondicional by Martina Gruas Assens of Col·legi Claver de Jesuïtes de Lleida.
These awards are organised by Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià and the Christian School Foundation of Catalonia (FECC) with collaboration from the Basilica of the Sagrada Família.
At this fifth awards ceremony, the winners and their guests were present, as were Ms Laia Ros, member of the Junta Constructora Board of Trustees; Mr Xavier Martínez, General Director; Director General; Mr. Jordi Faulí, Lead Architect, and members of the Executive Committee. Speeches were given by Ms Meritxell Ruiz, secretary general of the Christian School Foundation of Catalonia (FECC); and Mr Ramon Bassas, director general of Religious Affairs of the Government of Catalonia. Rev. Joan Torra, rector of the Ateneu Universitari Sant Pacià in Barcelona, gave the closing remarks.
