angle-left Easter at the Sagrada Família

For Easter Week, the Sagrada Família put together a programme of religious, cultural and popular events to share this liturgical season with the public.

Easter workshop inspired by the cross pinnacle on the tower of Jesus Christ

To share the meaning of Easter with the little ones, the Sagrada Família hosted a workshop for families with children aged 6 to 12. The workshop featured a special tour focusing on the Passion façade and had the children decorate a chocolate figure inspired by the cross pinnacle on the tower of Jesus Christ, in collaboration with Lluc Crusellas of Eukarya chocolates.

Passion and death of Jesus Christ told through illuminations of the Passion façade

On 29, 30 and 31 March, the Passion façade was lit up for all to see, in a unique musical light show narrating the Passion and death of Jesus Christ, with texts by Bishop Antoni Vadell.  There were two sessions a day, each lasting 25 minutes, alternating between Catalan and Spanish. This activity was free and open to all.

There were six sessions in total, in Catalan and Spanish. A total of 24,000 people came out to enjoy the illuminations for free.

Again this year, the Basilica also hosted the religious services for Palm Sunday, the Paschal Triduum and the Via Crucis.
