Before I was six, I started having attacks of rheumatism, which flared up again at various points in my life. This disease had a significant impact on my development as a boy. My weakness fostered my spirit of observation.

Gaudí died on 10 June 1926 at Hospital de la Santa Creu in Barcelona, three days after being run over by a tram on his way to the Sant Felip Neri chapel of prayer. On 12 June, a great crowd joined his funeral procession towards the Temple of the Sagrada Família.
