Inaugural Ceremony of the Gaudí Year

On Saturday, 8 November, the official Gaudí Year inauguration event took place in Reus and Riudoms, coinciding with the centenary of the architect’s death. The event was attended by the President of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, Salvador Illa, the Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández, representatives of entities linked to Antoni Gaudí, and the commissioner of the commemoration, Galdric Santana. From the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Família, Esteve Camps, delegate president, Xavier Martínez, general director, and Marta Otzet, director of Culture and Socio-educational Action, were also in attendance.

This commemoration strives to promote Gaudí’s figure from an artistic, scientific, academic and innovative perspective.
