Third arm arrives for cross on tower of Jesus Christ

Works continue to finish the cross on the tower of Jesus Christ at the Sagrada Família. The third arm arrived, after the lower arm, core and horizontal arms on the Nativity and Passion sides were installed a few days ago. The fourth arm and the upper arm are expected to arrive over the coming weeks.
The arms feature the double twist geometry that Gaudí used for the columns and crosses at the Sagrada Família. The outer end is square and the inner end, connecting with the core, is octagonal. Each piece weighs roughly 12.8 tonnes and measures 4.4 metres by 4.5 metres by 4.5 metres.
Coinciding with the hundredth anniversary of the death of Antoni Gaudí, the culmination of the tower of Jesus Christ will be a historic milestone for the Sagrada Família and a tribute to its architect. There will be commemorative events held all year. The programming is available on sagradafamilia2026.org.
