Jordi Faulí, chief architect, gave a lecture on Gaudí’s legacy and the Sagrada Família

On 15th June at Palau Robert, Jordi Faulí, chief architect of the Basilica of the Sagrada Família, delivered the lecture The Sagrada Família that Gaudí offers us, a presentation focused on Antoni Gaudí’s work and the continued relevance of his legacy through the constructive project of the Temple.

During his presentation, Faulí delved into the architectural conception of the Sagrada Família, reviewed some of the most significant moments in the history of the temple’s construction, and addressed key aspects of Gaudí’s work that continue to shape the current development of the Basilica.

The lecture was framed within the exhibition Gaudí, the Sagrada Família and Barcelona. 144 years of a shared journey, an exhibition exploring the historical relationship between the Temple and the city of Barcelona across more than a century. Through a selection of photographs, the journey reveals the parallel evolution of the Basilica and Barcelona, connecting key stages in the construction of the Sagrada Família with the city’s urban, social and cultural transformation.

The event was attended by Ms Anna Ramos, Director of the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, who delivered the welcoming remarks, and by Mr Esteve Camps, Delegate President of the Construction Board of the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, who closed the session. Also in attendance were Mr Joan Trias de Bes, Ms Núria Vendrell and Ms Laia Ros, members of the Board of Trustees, together with members of the Sagrada Família management team.

The exhibition, installed in the gardens and the showcase space of the Palau Robert, is part of the commemorative events for the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death and will be open to visitors until 26th July. More information at https://sagradafamilia2026.org/.
