angle-left Nativity façade to light up in support of various charity initiatives

The Sagrada Família will support several charity causes by illuminating the Nativity façade on three occasions in 2024.

On 24 May, it will be lit up orange as part of the “Ilumina de Naranja por la Epilepsia” campaign promoted by the Asociación Nacional de Personas con Epilepsia-ANPE for National Epilepsy Day.

The second will be on 10 October, for World Sight Day. This initiative is backed by the Eyes of the World Foundation, a non-profit organisation that fights preventable blindness.

The final illumination will be on 14 November, World Diabetes Day, when the façade will be bathed in blue thanks to the Associació Ajuda a la Recerca en Diabetis.

The Sagrada Família also plans to take part in Earth Hour on 23 March, switching off all the lights on the Nativity façade and the star on the tower of the Virgin Mary from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This way, once again this year, the Temple is joining one of the biggest environmental movements in the world that mobilises millions of people, companies and institutions in over 200 countries.
