Sagrada Família hosts second gathering of heads of FECC pastoral institutions

This Monday, 7 November, the heads of educational pastoral institutions in the Christian School Foundation of Catalonia (FECC) met at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família in a gathering organised by the FECC Pastoral Department. They were welcomed and greeted by Executive Chairman of the Basilica Esteve Camps.

Participants in the event, which took place in the cloister of Our Lady of Mercy, included FECC Secretary-General Meritxell Ruiz and some thirty representatives from FECC institutions. They discussed several key issues for the 2022-2023 academic year, including the Taizé pilgrimage, World Youth Day in Portugal, the training programme “Competència en Pastoral Educativa” (Skills in Educational Pastoral Work), the next “Bible Week in Schools” scheduled for January 2023 and the advances in the Global Compact on Education, among others.

To close the event, Marta Otzet, director of Culture and Social/Educational Actions at the Sagrada Família, presented the Basilica of the Sagrada Família’s educational offering for schools and families, including the educational visits adapted to the various academic levels and family workshops at Easter and Christmas. The Sagrada Família Educational Project aims to promote the values that represent the Basilica, particularly its spiritual side, and raise awareness of Antoni Gaudí and his work through discovery and experimentation.

Finally, the participants took a tour of the Basilica of the Sagrada Família with Jaume Serrallonga, PhD in Architecture.
