angle-left Sagrada Família announces new Social Action Fund

At a press conference, the Sagrada Família presented the coming steps in construction and the new projects under way.

General Director of the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Família Xavier Martínez announced the creation of the Social Action Fund, an initiative of the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Família created with the desire to serve the most vulnerable people and groups, to help build a society that is more community-minded, solidary and just.

With the slogan “Building a better society”, the Sagrada Família Social Action Fund aims to promote and jointly fund initiatives and social projects promoted by non-profit organisations that work within the Archdiocese of Barcelona and strive to help cover the social needs and demands of society today.

The first call, for 2023, will be launched on 18 December with €2.3 million. The rules for this call will be posted on the Sagrada Família website in the coming days.

The Social Action Fund connects with the Temple’s Foundation charter, which states that the Temple will “Exalt the faith and embrace charity”. In 1883, Antoni Gaudí took over the project for the Sagrada Família, remaining true to the founding principles of the Temple, and always showed great concern for the people. This initiative aims to build a society that is more humane, solidary and just, building a better society.
