angle-left Sagrada Família consolidates economic activity and unveils new visual identity

This morning, the Sagrada Família held a press conference to present its 2025 annual report, sharing the year’s results with full transparency. The event featured Mr Esteve Camps, Executive Chairman of the Junta Constructora de la Sagrada Família; Mr Xavier Martínez, General Director; and Mr Jordi Faulí, Head Architect.

Mr Camps announced that, given the current state of the project, the Sagrada Família logo has been updated. As he explained, the progress of the works and current state of construction of the Temple made it necessary to update the visual identity to reflect the Temple as it stands today. Over the past fifteen years, he explained, construction has advanced significantly: the completion of the four towers of the Evangelists, the tower of the Virgin Mary and, this past February, the culmination of the highest point of the whole Temple with the completion of the exterior of the tower of Jesus Christ. This natural evolution is in line with the current state of construction of the Sagrada Família and the historical moment commemorating the hundredth anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s death.

Visitors from around the globe and stable figures in 2025

At the press conference, Mr Xavier Martínez noted that the Temple welcomed 4,877,567 visitors in 2025, only a slight increase of 0.91% from 2024, when the figure was 4,833,658. Regarding origin, once again visitors were from a wide range of countries, although the largest group was from the United States, at 15.07% of the total. They were followed by Chinese (7.20%, up 60.75% from the previous year), Italian (6.92%), French (6.91%), South Korean (4.93%), British (4.52%) and German (4.10%) visitors. Visitors from Spain made up 10.82% of the total; from the rest of Europe, 15.67%; and from the rest of the world, 23.86%.

Financial stability enabled construction to continue advancing

In terms of financial figures, the Sagrada Família finished 2025 with income of €134.5 million, 100% of which is from private sources. In terms of expenses, 51.7% of the funds went to construction and 31.8% to Temple management. It is also worth noting the annual contributions to the Diocese Common Fund and agreed-on payments to the Barcelona City Council.

This solidity has made it possible to advance in the decisive phase of construction, completing the exterior of the tower of Jesus Christ and most of the section of the cloister on Carrer de Provença. Plus, the Chapel of the Assumption now stands 8 metres tall, of the 30-metre height it will have when finished, and work is under way to restore the tower of Matthias.

Activities for the people

In order to open the Basilica up to the people, an extensive programme of cultural, social and educational activities has been created. Once again this year, 28,500 visitors took advantage of the Sagrada Família Open Doors Days and 3,884 people called Jordi or Jordina in any language visited the Basilica for free on Sant Jordi.

One new initiative, launched in December 2025, offers special tickets for Barcelona residents, which 10,201 people have taken advantage of (data through February).

Regarding the Social Action Fund, the third call (2025) gave out 40% more than in 2024, nearly €5 million, and expanded its scope to include the dioceses of Terrassa and Sant Feliu de Llobregat, which are part of the Barcelona Ecclesiastical Province.

The Sagrada Família is also, and above all, worship, and each year several international masses are held, open to all the faithful. There were a total of 84,214 worshippers at the 103 international masses held in 2025, and 343,276 people visited the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament at the Basilica. In 2025, there were 23 diocese events and masses held, with 27,638 participants.
