On 30 November 1925, Antoni Gaudí witnessed the completion of the first of the eighteen towers he designed for the Temple.
The tower of Barnabas stood for the first time before the eyes of the architect and the people. Gaudí knew he wouldn’t be able to finish the Temple on his own, so he left one tower standing for people to see the project’s greatness and for his disciples to continue it.
This event, on the one hand, aims to commemorate this important moment in history: the completion of the only tower Gaudí lived to see finished, a tangible symbol of a dream shared by generations that will culminate with the central tower dedicated to Jesus Christ. And, on the other, it will pay tribute to the architect who designed a project that blends art, engineering and nature in a unique architectural language that strives to be universal. A work of art that invites us to explore the connection between beauty and the sacred.
